Bath Salt 101

Greetings!

Some of you may have seen all of the different salts used in beauty products. Well here is a simple guide to salts! Bath salts are known for treating skin disorders such as dermatitis, eczema, dandruff, psoriasis and more. Salts will help restore balance to the delicate layers of your skin while making you softer, smoother, and more relaxed.

Dead Sea Salts are harvested from the ancient waters of the Dead Sea, which is located between Israel and Jordan. The Dead Sea, also known as the “Sea of Salt”, is not technically a “sea” at all; it is a hypersaline lake. At 30% salinity, it is the second saltiest body of water in the world. The salt found in the Dead Sea is extraordinarily high in nutrients and is incredibly pure, having formed millions of years ago and far from any pollution. Dead Sea salt is a marvelous detoxifying agent, and leaves your skin feeling cleaner and softer than ever before.

Commonly called Epsom salt, Magnesium sulfate  is an inorganic salt (chemical compound) containing magnesium, sulfur and oxygen, with the formula MgSO4. Epson salt does occur naturally and is named for a bitter saline spring from the town of Epsom in Surrey, England, where the salt was produced from the springs. Epsom salt is used as a beauty product. Athletes use it to soothe sore muscles, while gardeners use it to improve crops. It has a variety of other uses.

  1. I never knew about Dead Sea salt. I have been dealing with a monstrous eczema outbreak for some months now, it usually goes away by the time the cold weather sets in but this time, I just can't seem to get rid of it. I think I need that Dead Sea salt in my life. I'd try whatever I can get my hands on at this juncture.
