All Natural Hot-Oil Hair Treatments

Now that we are entering into the cooler months your hair might need a little extra moisture. In my case this is year around: D. Here are some great recipes to add moisture to your hair and scalp.

Jojoba Hot Oil Hair Treatment

Ingredients 2 teaspoons jojoba oil 1 teaspoon organic sunflower oil Directions Combine ingredients then warm gently on low heat. Massage mixture into hair. Wrap hair in a hot towel or cover with shower cap or plastic wrap for 15 minutes. Shampoo & rinse out. *Jojoba oil mimics the body’s natural sebum. It quickly penetrates to moisturize without leaving an oily residue. It also has some antimicrobial properties.

Rosemary Hot Oil Hair Treatment

Ingredients 1/2 cup of dried rosemary 1/2 cup organic sunflower oil Directions Combine ingredients and heat until warm. Strain through a fine strainer or cheesecloth. Coat the entire head and hair with the oil mixture, working it through to the ends. Wrap hair in plastic wrap and wrap in a warm towel. Leave oil on hair for 15 minutes. Wash hair thoroughly. * Rosemary helps in stimulating follicles which results in hair growth. Rosemary may also slow down premature hair loss and greying. Rosemary is also beneficial for dry and flaky scalps.

Hot Oil Treatment for Damaged Hair

Ingredients 1/2 cup organic olive oil 7 drops oil of sandalwood 7 drops oil of lavender 7 drops oil of geranium Directions Mix all ingredients well. Warm oil to a comfortable temperature and apply the mixture to damp hair. Wrap hair in plastic wrap and apply a hot towel for 30 minutes. Shampoo.

Lavender Rosemary Hot Oil Hair Treatment

Ingredients 1/2 cup organic coconut oil 6 drops oil of rosemary 9 drops oil of lavender Directions Mix all ingredients well. Warm until coconut oil has melted and apply the mixture to damp hair. Wrap hair in plastic wrap and apply a hot towel for 20 minutes. Shampoo. * Lavender is a natural antiseptic and is an excellent cleansing agent. Its aroma is also soothing.
