Sewing Pajama Pants
Sewing Pajama Pants
Peace Fam Bam!
My daughter has been growing like a bean stalk. They older
she gets, the harder it is for me to find decent clothing in the stores for
her. Call me old fashion, but I prefer for little girls to look like little
girls. What is with all this lace, med drifts, short shorts and skinny pants in
the children sections? I mean really, they are just out of Kindergarten.
She
has been one of my major motivations to hone my sewing skills. One of the patterns
I chose to work on to jump into the sewing world again was for a child’s pajama
pant. I used Pattern It’s so Easy- Simplicity W0179. It was $1.97. The material
was bought at Wally World (Walmart) for about $2 per yard.
This pattern took
about 3 hours to make. It can probably be done within an hour or two, if you
don’t have a busy body toddler running around, and have access to a Serger. I
used my overlock foot and stich to finish my seams. I wasn’t ready for pockets
just yet so I omitted them LOL. If
you have any tips or good instructional videos on pockets, leave me a line
below. I would like to master them one day.
My next pattern I want to tackle is for a child’s coat. Wish
me luck!
